Preparing for Emergencies Leaflet Distributed in the Teesside Area
A special leaflet that could help save lives is going
out to 225,000 homes in the boroughs of Hartlepool, Middlesbrough,
Stockton-on-Tees and Redcar & Cleveland.
'Preparing for Emergencies' - an A5 leaflet which
folds out into a poster - gives vital advice and contact details to help
people prepare for and cope with a wide range of emergencies.
Cleveland Emergency Planning Officers, the local
councils, the emergency services, government agencies and local industry
have joined forces to produce the leaflet - the third year they have
done so.
It has been co-ordinated by Cleveland Emergency
Planning Unit and the information covers such things as flooding, severe
weather, explosions, large chemical fires or releases of gas, power
failures as well as other major incidents which could have significant
implications for the local community. There are also some useful
basic fire safety messages for the home.
