Exercise Montgomery - A Hazmat Exercise
A large scale major live play exercise took place on Teesport on Wednesday 27th February 2008 so that the emergency services and local authority could practice their procedures for dealing with an incident involving hazardous materials. The scenario involved a tanker in collision with a campervan, which turns over leaking a hazardous chemical.

Players included the fire, police, ambulance, local authority, Suttons, J Hewitt Crane Hire, The Salvation Army and members of the media. Thanks are extended to all those who took part including observers some experiencing this kind of situation for the first time; this provided a valuable learning experience.

A large number of observers attended from various different organisations both locally and from further afield. Media interviews took place at the scene to add realism to the exercise.
