Community Resilience

Groups within communities - whether formed around a locality (for example a street or village) or an interest or belief (for example faith groups or neighbourhood watch schemes) - can support the whole community to be more prepared and resilient to emergencies.

Community Safety Award

The Duke of Cornwall Community Safety Award was launched in 2012 in response to significant flooding in Cornwall. Our award Is based on concept and follows the same themes.

The award aims to educate and train young people to assist before, during and after a crisis.  It was developed to give young people in the UK an opportunity to learn what to do in an emergency situation, such as severe weather, a pandemic or long term power cut. The award is open to young people between the ages of 5 and 18.
