Groups within communities - whether formed around a locality (for example a street or village) or an interest or belief (for example faith groups or neighbourhood watch schemes) - can support the whole community to be more prepared and resilient to emergencies.
Cleveland Local Resilience Forum, has allocated a funding pot of £20,000 to help communities in the area increase their resilience and preparedness, ensuring they are prepared should a major incident occur.
Amounts of up to £2,000 will be awarded to small community initiatives and projects, led by community groups or voluntary organisations, which will directly benefit resilience and preparedness across the Cleveland LRF Area.
Closing Date for applications is Midnight on Friday the 20th December 2024.

The Duke of Cornwall Community Safety Award was launched in 2012 in response to significant flooding in Cornwall. Our award Is based on concept and follows the same themes.
The award aims to educate and train young people to assist before, during and after a crisis. It was developed to give young people in the UK an opportunity to learn what to do in an emergency situation, such as severe weather, a pandemic or long term power cut. The award is open to young people between the ages of 5 and 18.
